PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE Rx Medical has been operating in Practices, handling Practice Management for many years. At the National Solution Provider's conference, figures showed that Rx Medical software was installed in more sites in Australia than any other software. The programme handles Appointments, Billing – both bulk bill and private (including Insurance), batching and Medclaims, Receipting and Banking, Audit reports, Item Analysis, GST reporting, GST invoicing, multi item discounting, assist fees, separate location banking and reporting and more. For all courses, students are skill tested for pre required abilities. Should a student require, for example an Introduction to Windows, then LogiPro Systems are able to provide this training also. Training is generally broken down into two sections – Front Desk and Practice Management. Front Desk Trainingis a 6 hour course. , either at the Training Centre or on-site – Some of the areas this course covers entry of Patients with relevant Debtors, types of Debtors, raising Accounts, Receipting, Reversals, Troubleshooting, Refunds, Bulk Billing, Insurance, Private, Hospital, Ezyclaim for Private funds etc. Each Practice differs in their requirement and numbers of Trainees. We would consult with you for the best solution for your Practice. Practice Manager Training is normally 2 x 3 hour sessions conducted on-site with the Practice Manager. This involves setting up of the system to suit your individual Practice requirements e.g. Doctor Details, GST and Business Entities, Bank Accounts, Locations, Debtor Management, Reporting, Medclaims, Batching and Receipting, Re-submitting etc. Audit reports, Banking, Troubleshooting and more. Again, we would consult with you for the best solution for your Practice. Of course, not all Practices run the same way and many times these two sections are blended to meet your specific requirements. Should you only require Bulk Billing training, then naturally the course would be shorter. Should you have multiple site locations with specific reporting requirements, then the course may take longer as we would need to set up your system accordingly. Each Student completes a worksheet in order to measure their own progress and allow any follow up training requirements to be assessed. Pre-requisite for these courses is Basic Windows knowledge. We do offer an Introduction to Windowsshould this be a requirement. In the meantime, should you have a requirement for this, please contact us for more details. PRACTICE MANAGER/ SUPERVISOR TRAINING The following schedule is designed for the Supervisor or Practice Manager and includes those functions that are specific to the "Practice Manager". Of course, every Practice is different and some of these and the Front Desk functions may overlap – this is an example only. APPOINTMENTS AND WAITING ROOM MANAGER The diary for Appointments can be either implemented immediately and scheduled into the Front Desk and Practice Management course or done separately, later should this be preferred. Front Desk training for diary is minimal requiring approximately 2 to 3 hours. Practice Management training would be 3 to 5 hours depending on the size and complexity of the site/s. Waiting Room Manager The Waiting Room features have just been implemented into the Rx Medical version. We envisage this to add only a small amount of time to the training times. Clinical has also been available for many years in the DOS version. However, recently Rx Healthcare launched the Windows version using MIMMS Script and no advertising! Rx Medical Practice Management and Diary links seamlessly to either Clinical or Medical Director passing Patient information back and forth between the two. Therefore, the choice as to which Clinical package to use is yours. Clinical for Windows Initial introduction is via on-screen Help files. This programme uses MIMMS Scripts and as most Doctors are familiar with this – very little training is required. Ordering and viewing Pathology requests and results are simple, as are the Documentation, Preventative Medicine, Clinical Summary, Recalls, Patient Snapshot and other areas such as Peak Flow, Gestation Calculator etc. However, we do offer a familiarisation session of around an hour if the Doctor has Basic Windows knowledge. We do offer an Introduction to Windows should this be a requirement.
Medical Director Initial introduction can also be done using on-screen Help files and tutorials, however we do offer a service to both Practice Managers and Doctors for either one-on-one or classroom training.
Community Care Software As Community Care Organisations are set up so differently and their requirements are specific in many ways, we tailor our courses to suit each Organisation. Generally and common to all though, is the setup of many areas such as types of services, staff and client information types, pay types, programmes, rosters etc. The system also handles HACC MDS reporting. FRONT DESK TRAINING The following schedule is designed for the Front Desk Operators and include those functions that are specific to those operators. The course covers one full day – 6 hours per day –9am to 12 noon and recommencing at 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm allowing a ½ hour break for lunch Each Student in the training room has their own computer. Over 6 Students at once will require price and arrangements on application. Session One Entering New Patients – general demographics Session Two Creating more private accounts Creating Medicare accounts Use of the Appointment Diary and Waiting Room can be infused into this Front Desk course if the Practice is using these features. The Practice Management course includes the setup and management of Appointments. The course can be tailored to include your Practice's specific requirements. TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR COMPUTER!! Introduction to Windows For any training in a Windows environment, the Student requires a minimum of basic Windows knowledge. How to use a mouse, how to create shortcuts and what icons are for. How to locate, edit, delete, copy files and what are directories and more. The basics make it easier to learn the actual functionality of the programmes. Without this basic skill, the Student can find it impossible or very difficult to learn . Rx Medical Introduction to Office Workshop Unlike many other courses which may take days and cost thousands of dollars, these one-day workshops will show you what you need to know to get started using Windows, Office and Rx Medical., Backing up your data It is absolutely essential that your operators know how to back up you data, how to tell that it has actually backed up correctly, how to restore from backup and how to handle this important data. Many businesses, both in the Medical Industry and others, do not have efficient backup proceedures – some don't have any proceedures The information on your computer runs your business! If your building burnt down tonight or your computer was stolen – are you 100% sure you have ALL your data backed up properly???? If you are not 100% sure of this – call us NOW! We will visit your business and conduct a Disaster Recovery survey and advise you of your backup status and any suggestions we may have. MS Word Introduction This course is designed to introduce you to the basics of Word – the Medical Practice Managers version of this course includes an introduction to Templates and Form Letters for merging with Rx Medical for letters to Referring Doctors, Patients, Recalls etc. This is a 3 hour course. System Administrators Short Course This course has been specifically set up for anyone who suddenly finds themselves in charge of a network of computers! Practice Managers, Office Managers and others will benefit knowing how your network works, what a virus checker does, where does the data store and why. What network protocol you use, profiles, setting up a new user, printing across a network and much more. This is a new course and we are putting the final touches to it. Then we will test it out in the classroom and confirm its availability on this site. Our National Solution Provider Conference was held in September in Sydney over a 3 day period. It is always a pleasure to catch up with our counterparts from other states across the nation, as well as the enthusiastic and friendly team at Rx Healthcare. Unfortunately, your SA team were flying Ansett . . . or at least we flew there, but had to drive home being stranded by Ansett closing the door. It did give us a chance to unwind and view some of our beautiful countryside . . however, it was a long drive home! Meeting the new faces behind the voices on the Helpdesk (I've had a lot of fun with clients, asking them to guess what Mae, Gordon, Jane etc look like – mostly wrong I might add!!) - catching up with long time friends such as Steve Wright and Anthony Hill, Gordon, Ian and others . . . and above all learning about our new products, soaking up new information and training and generally coming home better equipped to service our Clients. We have many, many new and improved features in our Rx Medical for Windows SQL version – a list of some of these is found under New Features and also Upgrade Training on this Web site or the link at the bottom of this letter. There are also a number of new versions of our Rx programme including Osteopath, Dental, Aesthetic features in Warper for our Plastic, Cosmetic Surgeons as well as Oral Surgeons. COMMUNITY CARE SOFTWARE has been a huge success in the Community Care area with LogiPro Systems RxSA having installed a number of sites with many other potential sites showing interest. SCATTS is a unique administrative tool for Clinical Sterilization of surgical equipment and enhance AS4187 compliance and other quality assurance standards. More options and features are on the way and we will keep you informed. Note also that as there are so many new features in RxMW we are offering some classroom, low cost training for 3 hour sessions each Thursday morning and afternoon from Nov 15th to Dec 20th . Take advantage of this offer and get up to speed on the new features. Clinical for Windows is also proving a winner, using the same database as Rx Medical (Billing) and MIMS for scripts – and no advertising in sight! Of course, we still link seamlessly to Medical Director and it's database. (8387 5988 or 0419 823 930) Conversion Many of our DOS and RxMW Access/DB2 sites have converted over to Windows and found that under their current Support & Upgrade Agreement (SUA) with Rx Healthcare the new Rx Medical for Windows software is free of charge – saving them thousands of dollars in new licence fees. There is a small conversion and Microsoft SQL licence cost for Rx Healthcare to do a test conversion and then for the actual conversion - plus training and installation by LogiPro Systems RxSA. Give Loneice Clarke a call for more information. The usual disruption for the Practice for this to be done is 1 day "going manual" while conversion takes place. Upgrades When upgrading your Rx programme, if your feel uncertain about doing this on your own, please give us a call and we will be happy to send one of our technical installers out to assist. Of course, there is a fee for this service – normal rates plus travel. As Official Solution Providers for Rx Healthcare products, we have the support of Rx itself behind us and we know the product – so if you get outside help, use those who know the system, LogiPro Systems RxSA 8387 5988 or 0419 823 930. You do receive information about how to do the upgrades with your disks. Make sure you read this carefully before proceeding. Most upgrades are quite easy and trouble free. HACC Conference - Adelaide Convention Centre - SA For our clients in the Community Care Sector, this conference earlier this year, provided an excellent opportunity to attend sessions and view new equipment and software, such as The Community Care System which we had on show. The response to the programme was huge due to the increasing requirements of being able to not only report HACC MDS easily and automatically, but produce reports and statistical information for Management and day to day running of the agencies.
